1 | In accordance with the philosophy of the health sciences faculty on excellence in student-centered professional education, the goal of the nursing program is to cultivate nursing professionals with knowledge and skills managing health care issues and improving clinical practices. |
2 | The students will define nursing as a scientific discipline that takes a holistic approach in a competent, ethical, and caring manner. |
3 | They will recognize the uniqueness of each person, and respect, protect and advocate for the individual’s right to self-determination, self-expression, confidentiality and dignity. |
4 | They will understand that health care is a human right, whether the goal is quality of life or dignity of death and dying. |
5 | They will strengthen the practice through a commitment to innovation and nursing research. |

Objectives |
1 | Integrate nursing knowledge, ethical principles and clinical excellence in practice nursing within an area of specialization to reflect the nursing model of excellence in the pursuit of knowledge, holistic care of the patient, and integrating the principles of social justice. |
2 | Demonstrates humanism to patients, families and communities. |
3 | Analyze the issues relevant to professional nursing development, and explore possible solutions scientifically. |
4 | Implement effective pedagogical methodologies as applied to nursing practice and education. |
5 | Perform self-directed learning and continually aspire to improve individual professional skills. |
6 | Coordinates the actions of its member organizations and promotes cooperation among them, to ensure uniformity in professional standards, and it conducts relations with national and international bodies. |
