LEARNING & TEACHING METHODS
The Department Interior Architecture and Environmental Design follows a holistic approach to designing interior spaces by using science, art, and technology. The Department interacts with a range of professional disciplines such as architecture, landscape architecture, psychology and sociology. Therefore, the quality of education is based on the interdisciplinary approach. The Undergraduate Program of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design consists of theory and practice. The design studios are at the heart of the education program. The design studios start in the first year of the education and last for four years. The main aim of the design studies is to help the students to design their original projects, to develop an ability to take a part in teamwork, and to strengthen the educational process in cooperation with other departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (e.g. architecture). In addition, the students take some other courses (e.g. building materials, drawing and presentation techniques, ergonomics, furniture design, and interior landscape design) that contributes to the quality of education.
