Objectives and Contents
Objectives of the Course Unit Study of optician applications in a laboratory environment. To be able to recognize the spectacle lenses, to understand the properties of visual defects and their transposition with different spellings, to obtain the pupil and mounting height measurements of the user for mounting the spectacle lenses to the frame, to be able to take them using a digital pupillameter, to cut the spectacle lenses to a closed frame by working with hand stone, The aim of the course is to grasp the measurements and types, to make the selection and settings according to the face, to measure the glasses by grasping the technique of using the fokometer, to understand the properties of vision defects and their transposition with different spelling patterns, to make the selection and settings of the glasses frames according to the face by understanding the types and measurements.
Contents of the Course Unit Definition, history and usage areas of glasses. Learning the definition, duties, powers and regulations of the optician. Raw materials used in the production of spectacle frames and their properties. Bringing the glasses frames to balance position on the vertical and horizontal axis and adjusting them according to the human face. Measurement of glasses frames, their parts, the choice according to the face. Dioptric powers of lenses, focal point and focal distances, general classification of lenses. Recognition of mineral and organic lenses. Lens types, thermal, physical and chemical properties of lenses. Properties of convex and concave lenses, their usage areas, properties and types of spherical (spherical) and cylindrical lenses. Where lenses are used according to reaction defects. Marking, scratching, shaving and cutting of lenses, edge shaving of lenses and mounting stages on glasses frames. Recognition and use of focometer, determination of dioptric powers of lenses, determination of optical center.
Contribution of the Course Intending to Provide the Professional Education This course provides the student to gain manual dexterity by practicing all the procedures he / she will perform in the workshop.
