Objectives and Contents
Objectives of the Course Unit The aim of this course is to convey the correct and effective use of communication methods and communication styles by emphasizing the importance of the need to develop and interact in harmony with the people around him by knowing himself. To provide students with the necessary competencies and skills to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
Contents of the Course Unit The course will include basic approaches to communication in order to clarify what communication is, types of communication, its relation with other disciplines. From types of communication, interpersonal communication will be taken for granted during the semester. Due to this, the significance of communication skills for the tourism industry will be discussed. In order to improve interpersonal communication and to understand "communication skills" better, some concepts such as self, others, perception, expression, active listening, verbal and non-verbal communication, interpersonal competence, and managing conflict will be investigated in detail.
Contribution of the Course Intending to Provide the Professional Education This course will improve the interpersonal communication skills of the students who are getting ready for the industry. As it is known communication is the cornerstone of interpersonal relations and interpersonal relations are the essence of tourism and hospitality which includes the activities of people such as traveling and staying in places for not more than one year for various purposes such as leisure, business, and etc.

AKTS, aynı zamanda, yükseköğretim kurumlarına, öğretim programları ve ders içeriklerinin iş yüküne bağlı olarak kolay anlaşılabilir bir yapıda tasarlanması, uygulanması, gözden geçirilmesi, iyileştirilmesi ve bu sayede yükseköğretim programlarının kalitesinin geliştirilmesine ve kalite güvencesine önemli katkı sağlayan bir sistematik yaklaşım sunmaktadır. The implementation of ECTS has, since its introduction, has been found wide acceptance in the higher education systems across the European Countries and become a credit system and an indispensable tool supporting major aims of the Bologna Process and, thus, of European Higher Education Area as it makes teaching and learning in higher education more transparent across Europe and facilitates the recognition of all studies. The system allows for the transfer of learning experiences between different institutions, greater student mobility and more flexible routes to gain degrees. It also offers a systematic approach to curriculum design as well as quality assessment and improvement and, thus, quality assurance.
