Objectives and Contents
Objectives of the Course Unit For those studying psychology, it is an introductory course to topics studied by different fields in psychology. It aims to introduce the history of psychology as a developing science, to discover the methods of accessing information as a result of psychological research, and to provide information about different fields such as sense, perception, cognitive processes, development, learning and comprehension.
Contents of the Course Unit The definition of psychology, its history, scientific foundations of psychology, basic concepts and branches of psychology, behavior, personality, learning principles, behavioral disorders, scientific methods used in psychology, basic processes, application areas of psychology constitute the content of this course.
Contribution of the Course Intending to Provide the Professional Education Being able to recognize the patient and knowing the physiological and biological structures of individuals studying in the field of health plays an important role in contributing to raising awareness in this field.

The implementation of ECTS has, since its introduction, has been found wide acceptance in the higher education systems across the European Countries and become a credit system and an indispensable tool supporting major aims of the Bologna Process and, thus, of European Higher Education Area as it makes teaching and learning in higher education more transparent across Europe and facilitates the recognition of all studies.
