Objectives of the Course Unit |
To give information about the mechanical foundations of the prosthesis, prosthesis types, indications, applications, modifications and possible complications; to provide an understanding of ampute rehabilitation. To gain the ability to plan and apply the appropriate treatment program for amputes.

Contents of the Course Unit |
The course covers: amputation, causes of amputation, levels, congenital limb deficiency, partial hand and foot prostheses, upper and lower extremity amputation levels, prosthesis applications and component selection, static and dynamic settings in prostheses, control mechanisms, gait problems seen in lower extremity amputees, early and temporary prosthesis applications, myoelectric prostheses, advanced technological prosthesis applications and ampute rehabilitation.

To be able to choose the appropriate prosthesis for amputee, to gain the skill of planning and applying the treatment program.
