Objectives and Contents
Objectives of the Course Unit The theoretical and practical goal of the course is to provide basic nursing care to the patient and to use international evidence-based methods while providing nursing care.
Contents of the Course Unit This course provides the basic nursing care concepts to provide a foundation for nursing care and subsequent nursing courses; the focus of this course is on the introduction of theory and beginning clinical application of the nursing process when providing care for patients in clinical settings.
Contribution of the Course Intending to Provide the Professional Education They learn fundamentals of nursing practices which are baseline of nursing science and they use their skills in clinics with the help of this lesson.

On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to:
1 The students defines basic theoretical and practical evidence based nursing the implementations, basic principles and methods related to nursing practices.
2 Determines the care and needs of the patient, defines nursing diagnosis, and takes into account the order of importance.
3 Performs evidence based nursing applications using the nursing process.
4 Analyzes and prevents risks before they arise during care process of the patient
5 Evaluates the patients vital signs and analyzes considering the patient's health condition.
6 Learns how to conduct physical examination to the patient by inspection, palpation, auscultation and percussion.
7 Determines the hygiene needing of the patient and applies evidence based nursing care.
8 Learn how to mobilize patients by consider the principles of mobilization. Also observe the patient during the mobilization process and evaluates the patient's activation tolerance/intolerance.
9 Learn how to calculate adult and pediatric drug dosages and route of administration and apply to patient by consider six rights which are the right medication,right dosage, right patient,right route , right time and right documentation.
10 Have information about infection prevention methods and infection cycle during infection process.In addition, knows how to apply hygienic technics patient in isolation.
