Objectives and Contents
Objectives of the Course Unit The main aim of the course is to provide students with basic information and application examples about physical principles, physiological effects, application methods, indications and contraindications, hazards related to heat light hydrotherapy modalities.
Contents of the Course Unit Physical Properties and Local Systemic Effects of Heat / Hot Applications (Hotpack, Fluidotherapy, Paraffin ...), Local and systemic effects of cold, Cold applications (coldpack ..), Hydrotherapy and Physical Properties of Water, Systemic Effects and Application Methods Balneotherapy, Effects on Systems , Indication and Contraindication, Pool Therapy, In-water exercises, Whirlpool, Hubber Tank Opposite Baths and Showers.
Contribution of the Course Intending to Provide the Professional Education Knowing the methods of heat, light hydrotherapy, provides the ability to treat patients in different areas.

On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to:
1 Explains and selects the effect of superficial temperature modalities on inflammation and pain.
2 Define the physical and physiological effects of superficial temperature modalities and solve problems.
3 Explain the physical and physiological effects of infrared, laser, UVL, heliotherapy and cold application, determine and apply their indications and contraindications.
4 Describes the objectives, physiological effects of hydrotherapy and explains the related basic concepts.
5 Explains water applications, fluidotherapy, physiological effects of humid temperature applications, application methods and usage areas with mechanical stimulation.
6 Describes the physiological effects, application methods and usage areas of spa treatment, pool treatment and in-water exercises.
7 Explain the objectives and application methods of the tests used in hydrotherapy and apply them.
