Objectives and Contents
Objectives of the Course Unit With cardiac rehabilitation, it is aimed to bring individuals with cardiovascular system disease to the best level physically, socially, emotionally and professionally.
Contents of the Course Unit History of cardiac rehabilitation, definition principles, applications in the program, pathophysiology and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases, evaluation methods used in cardiovascular rehabilitation, treatment methods used in cardiovascular rehabilitation, program planning in cardiovascular rehabilitation. Recognition of problems in patients with cardiovascular problems, evaluation of patients with appropriate evaluation methods, selection of cardiac rehabilitation approaches and applications, and planning and implementation of the appropriate treatment program for the patient.
Contribution of the Course Intending to Provide the Professional Education Cardiac rehabilitation is the sum of planned and programmed activities aimed at bringing heart patients closer to their pre-illness stage. As a multidisciplinary treatment method, it requires good teamwork. The main members of the cardiac rehabilitation team are the physician, nurse and physiotherapist. While physicians undertake the medical directorship of the program, nurses are mostly responsible for patient education, coordination and psychosocial approach, and physiotherapists are responsible for exercise programs. The more cohesive the team members are, the more successful the rehabilitation will be.

The implementation of ECTS has, since its introduction, has been found wide acceptance in the higher education systems across the European Countries and become a credit system and an indispensable tool supporting major aims of the Bologna Process and, thus, of European Higher Education Area as it makes teaching and learning in higher education more transparent across Europe and facilitates the recognition of all studies. The system allows for the transfer of learning experiences between different institutions, greater student mobility and more flexible routes to gain degrees. It also offers a systematic approach to curriculum design as well as quality assessment and improvement and, thus, quality assurance.
