Objectives of the Course Unit The course refers to the typical educational activities and belongs to the scientific area of Economics.
Contents of the Course Unit This course aims to provide students with an introduction to the main issues in tourism economics including theoretical models and empirical applications. Students obtain an understanding of different theories and models, their underlying assumptions and their main conclusions and policy implications. Students gain comprehension on the functioning of tourism markets, allowing them to identify the main components of tourism demand and to analyze the main economic problems associated with tourism firms and tourism destinations.
Contribution of the Course Intending to Provide the Professional Education Students will also learn where and how to gather empirically relevant data and how to interpret empirical results of published research in the field of tourism economics
