Objectives of the Course Unit | Know the basic chemistry principles that will form the basis of biochemistry and analyze biochemical events in line with these principles. Understand the basic concepts and basis of biochemistry. Learn the information that will form the basis in human biochemistry. It aims at providing knowledge that will guide them in their professional life and develop the skill they will apply in practice. |
Contents of the Course Unit | Fluid and electrolyte balance, acid-base, pH concepts, the structure and function of biomolecules involved in the metabolic activities of human, the definition of metabolism and metabolic activities, the effects of disease states affecting human health on laboratory results, correct biological sampling techniques to achieve reliable laboratory results. |
Contribution of the Course Intending to Provide the Professional Education | To understand normal biochemistry of human body. To understand biochemical changes occurring in illness. To assist with simple biochemical test, interpret the results and draw inference. |
