Objectives of the Course Unit | Know the basic chemistry principles that will form the basis of biochemistry and analyze biochemical events in line with these principles. Understands and understands the basic concepts and basis of biochemistry. Learns the information that will form the basis in human biochemistry. In order to gain basic skills for the tests carried out in biochemistry laboratories, experiments related to the subjects will be carried out in the application part. It aims to acquire knowledge that will guide them in their professional life and the skill they will apply in practice. |
Contents of the Course Unit | Biochemistry for Nurses is an introduction to the chemistry and structure-function relationships of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. It will examine the basic metabolism of carbohydrates and fats, with emphasis on the biochemical fluctuations that occur in human health and disease, and will include a brief introduction to molecular genetics. |
