Objectives of the Course Unit | Demonstrate basic concepts of the AutoCAD software Apply basic concepts to develop construction (drawing) techniques Ability to manipulate drawings through editing and plotting techniques Understand geometric construction Produce template drawings Produce 2D Orthographic Projections Understand and demonstrate dimensioning concepts and techniques Understand Section and Auxiliary Views Become familiar with the use of Blocks, Design Center, and Tool Palettes Become familiar with Solid Modeling concepts and techniques. |
Contents of the Course Unit | The aim of this course is to introduce students the basic concepts and the use of engineering drawing in the design and manufacturing field. The students acquaint with the basic knowledge and skills in engineering drawings and the capability to read and interpret blue prints for manufacturing. |
Contribution of the Course Intending to Provide the Professional Education | A course introducing students to the principles of CAD, the theories and methods on which it is founded, and its principal applications in practice - generating, evaluating, modeling, drafting, and rendering design solutions. |
