Objectives of the Course Unit | This course examines leading theoretical approaches to the study of foreign policy across a range of states and issue areas. The goal of the course is to prepare students to both critically evaluate the theoretical literature on foreign policy and to conduct their own research. We will investigate the influence of international environment, elite decision-making and psychology and domestic factor. The primary objective of this course is to provide a profound examination of foreign policy decision-making process. |
Contents of the Course Unit | The actors (individuals/leaders, groups, organization and bureaucratic politics) and factors (internal and external issues) in foreign decision-making process are the main topics to be analyzed, taking into account different theoretical perspectives. |
