Objectives of the Course Unit | The aim of this course is to give you some tools with which to identify, contemplate, and solve managerial problems. Your tool kit won't be full, but you will have enough tools to carry out some of the more common managerial “repairs.” This course will teach you about management and how it can help you to make things happen, meet the competition, and organize people, projects, and processes. |
Contents of the Course Unit | This course introduces students to the roles and functions of managers. The content includes an introduction to organizations and the need for and nature of management. It examines the evolution of management theory, organizational environments, and corporate social responsibility and ethics. The course also includes a detailed investigation of the four functions of management: planning and decision making, organizing, leading and motivating, and controlling. |
