Objectives and Contents
Objectives of the Course Unit Theoretical information, in the hospital environment, within the scope of internship; Refers to the student's implementation of nursing care. It provides professional application of nursing care in pediatric diseases.
Contents of the Course Unit This course is the clinical component of HEM319 and HEM321. Building on the foundation of previous nursing courses and the nursing process, the student will explore nursing care for women with reproductive concerns as well as nursing care during preconception, prenatal, postpartum, and neonatal periods. Tasks of pregnancy, psychosocial adaption, and biological-behavioral concepts in obstetric nursing care within the context of social justice, cultural competence, and equity will be addressed. Students will have exposure to a variety of primary care procedures and will take care for patients across the life-span, including refinement of psychomotor skills and simulation activities related to pediatric nursing. Clinical experiences immerse students in key professional nursing roles: care provider, leader, multidisciplinary team member and collaborator.
Contribution of the Course Intending to Provide the Professional Education This course focuses on providing comprehensive nursing interventions to prepare students for the profession in national and / or international primary, secondary, tertiary care settings.
